Drop JPGs here to get WebP files for your site. Google's own comparison measured WebP 25–34% smaller than JPEG at the same visual quality.

## How to use it

1. Drop .jpg or .jpeg files.
2. Set the quality (85 is a good default for photos).
3. Download the WebP files or a zip.

## Details

- **Input:** JPG, JPEG
- **Output:** Lossy WebP, quality 85 by default
- **Limits:** No file count limit. Very large images (above ~16,000 px on a side, or ~250 megapixels on phones) can exceed the browser's canvas limit.

## Questions

### Are my files uploaded?

No. The page loads its code once, then reads and processes your files inside the browser tab. Nothing is sent to a server; you can confirm it in your browser's network panel while a file converts.

### Should I convert every JPG on my site to WebP?

For photos, usually yes: WebP is smaller and every current browser supports it. Keep the original JPGs as masters, since converting lossy to lossy loses a little each time.

### Is the EXIF data kept?

No. The WebP is encoded from pixels, so camera data and GPS location are removed, and the orientation is applied to the pixels.
