Drop AVIF files here to get PNGs with transparency kept, ready for editors and design tools that do not read AVIF.

## How to use it

1. Drop .avif files or choose them.
2. Each file converts as it arrives.
3. Download the PNGs or a zip.

## Details

- **Input:** AVIF (still images, with alpha)
- **Output:** PNG with alpha, 8 bits per channel
- **Needs:** A browser that decodes AVIF (all current major browsers)
- **Limits:** No file count limit. Very large images (above ~16,000 px on a side, or ~250 megapixels on phones) can exceed the browser's canvas limit.

## Questions

### Are my files uploaded?

No. The page loads its code once, then reads and processes your files inside the browser tab. Nothing is sent to a server; you can confirm it in your browser's network panel while a file converts.

### Why is the PNG so much larger?

AVIF is one of the most efficient image formats; PNG is lossless. A 10–20× size increase is normal for photos. Choose AVIF to JPG if size matters and you do not need transparency.

### Are HDR or 10-bit AVIF files kept as HDR?

No. The browser canvas works at 8 bits per channel, so the PNG is standard dynamic range.
